Thaalthug Geomender

Thaalthug Geomender is one of the leaders of Azurizt, along with his wife Graddira, following the drow attack on the city. The married couple has proven to be among the most capable of the survivors with Graddira carrying out his wife's plans by reconstructing buildings, reopening collapsed tunnels, and organizing workers and warriors to explore uninvestigated areas of the damaged city. His foremost concern is keep his fellow citizens safe and fed until they are able to rebuild Azurizt in such a fashion that it will be capable of repelling any future attacks, be they from the drow or other invaders.
He has done his job so well that the people of Azurizt intend to crown him as their new king (and Graddira their queen) as part of a celebration once the reconstruction efforts are complete.

Journey Into the Underdark Arc

Thaalthug is apparently an acquaintance of the goblin merchant Gobo, as he was first mentioned to the adventurers of the Thaig Expedition by Gobo. The adventurers needed diamonds to restore Jake F. Statefarm to life, but the only diamonds Gobo had were already purchased by Thaalthug with delivery pending. Elycia Mirais managed to strong-arm Gobo into helping them by mentioning all the money Jake had spent with him, and never would again now that he was dead. With help from the wizard Villamax, Gobo was able to contact Thaalthug and negotiate delivering black pearls instead of diamonds. Seeing as black peals could not be mined like diamonds, Thaalthug considered them more valuable and agreed to the trade.
