Xalkin
Xalkin was a glabrezu demon that served as Cedra's right-hand man in her quest to obtain the Quintus Gems. As is typical of glabrezus, he would often appeal to mortal greed to achieve his objectives and then resort to violence if his target was unwilling to accept his bribery.
The Barrel Boys first encountered Xalkin in an underground combat arena, the demon appearing after they were already worn out from slaying several other monsters. He offered to escort them to safety in exchange for their Quintus Gems, which the adventurers promptly refused. His carrot rejected, Xalkin switched tactics to the stick and decided to tear the adventurers apart instead. Though it was a difficult battle, arguably the hardest the Barrel Boys had fought up until that point, they emerged from the conflict with a narrow victory. Xalkin's physical form was destroyed as his soul was spirited back to his home plane on the Abyss, though he did not stay there long as he was soon resummoned by a displeased Cedra.
Xalkin was next seen taking orders from Cedra's new second, Faleb-Duhr, having been demoted for his previous failure against the Barrel Boys. While the adventurers were scouting an orc army invading elvish territory, Marshall crashed through some bushes to investigate voices he heard and promptly found himself face-to-face with Xalkin, Cedra, and Faleb-Duhr. Realizing his mistake, the dwarf promptly retreated to his allies and teleported to safety before the pursuing Xalkin and Faleb-Duhr could catch up with them. Shortly thereafter, Xalkin left the main battlefield with Cedra and helped her fight against Dunames and Kishin, though the duel ended in a stalemate with both sides retreating.
He was last seen during the Battle of Lakeview, leading a contingent of Cedra's demons as they battled Dunames' devils throughout the city streets. The Barrel Boys came across him during this conflict, using their newfound power to make short work of the demon lieutenant that they had once struggled against. Sent back to the Abyss yet again, Xalkin could do no more than scream his frustration at the mortals who had bested him yet again.
