House Redblossom

House Redblossom is most well known for being the only great house that has no human blood whatsoever and for their direct relation to the Elven Enclave. Some of the other races claim kinship with celestials and sometimes bear aasimar children like humans do, when born of elven parents these children are called "Avariel" (which means: Sky Maidens in elvish) and have giant angel-like wings. Such is the case with the Redblossom family, the vast majority of the house nobles are "Avariel" and long ago decided to stake their claim within the Kingdom of man. They speak for the Elven Enclave and defend it's interests both within the King's court and without.

Culture

The Avariel of House Redblossom are free spirits who would like nothing better than to simply soar on the currents high above the ground, taking in the views Nexus has to offer. They posses an irrepressible zest for life. Even in the darkest, most desperate situation, a Redblossom remains cheerful. Unfortunately, while friendly to those they consider their equals, they also tend to be condescending and even downright rude to landbound races. The nobles are usually unaware of this; it's just their natural reaction to treat landbound races as lesser creatures. Enough time has passed that the Avariel have overcome their natural bias, for the most part. At heart they are contemplative and philosophical, religion plays an important role in their daily lives. Even those who spend their lives studying the martial path often set aside these pursuits in order to return to a holier calling.

Public Agenda

House Redblossom represent the elven enclave's interests, which are ever mysterious. They bear no love for the enemies of the King, but nor do they actively work to thwart them. They often oppose other Houses when they seek to over exploit forests or hunt excessively, they always seem to know when such events transpire because of their elf allies; or so the rumors say. The Redblossoms are the family that contribute the least to the Kingdom, they do not embrace noble tradition either, preferring to hold to their own elven ones. They acquire elf-made items from their kin such as arrows and spears, bows and curved blades; they then sell those quality items in Nexus. They also have the sweetest fruits and tastiest vegetables in the city, they have such a reputation that a great many of The Noble Houses will not accept anything less on their dinner plate.

  • History

Not much is known about the history of House Redblossom, only that they were accepted into nobility only after the Elven Enclave made a deal with the King of the time, it was so long ago in the memories of Men that none recall the specifics of it nor exactly how long it has been. Miriel, the head of the family likely knows however, because it was she who was chosen to lead the house those many centuries ago, and she leads it still.

    Military

The Redblossoms abhor violence but they know it is sometimes needed. The House army is known as "The Fellowship of the Forgotten Flowers" and house Redblossom can muster many to their banner in time of need not to mention the druids of Eocra Esci who would likely be allies, these forces come mainly from the Elven Enclave and their connections. No other noble house can boast of having a greater ranged power. The family also has a small but elite airborne force of Avariel arcane archers that act as house guards.

    Religion

The Avariel are very devout, they worship all the goodly gods old and new. They honor them all, offer sacrifices to them all and train in the use of all of their favored weapons. There is one god that they worship more than the rest, Corellon Larethian, the Protector. The entirety of House Redblossom flies to the top of mount Pyeha once a month, just as the lighthouse shines fully on the peak, to give thanks to the creator of elves in a breathtaking procession the citizens of Nexus call the "Scarlet Dance". The Avariel bask in the life giving light and their red garb is illuminated, amplified many fold even, so much so that they can be seen from anywhere in the city.
