Taruk the Slaver

Bandit Lord Taruk (a.k.a. the Slaver)

Taruk is the lord of these bandits and stands at an average height for a duergar, his skin bearing the grayish hue typical of his subterranean kin. He is garbed in ragged, dark leather armor adorned with crude spikes and a tattered black cloak. Unlike the Horned King's imposing figure, Taruk has a squat and haggard appearance, as if a lifetime of hardship and toil has taken its toll on him. One notable feature of Taruk is his deeply scarred face, with a twisted and sinister grin that reveals his unsettling delight in cruelty. His eyes are a fiery red, and glowing hot as a blacksmith's furnace when he is angry.   Once a duergar slaver who served the Horned King, Taruk now operates as the Horned King's vassal, overseeing a motley crew of cutthroats and mercenaries within the bandit lord's realm. Despite his diminutive stature compared to his former master, Taruk exudes an air of authority and dominance within his own sphere.   Taruk the Slaver has a peculiar and somewhat unsettling fascination with potions and poisons. His encampment holds a dark and eclectic collection of vials, flasks, and jars containing various concoctions. He recognizes the strategic advantage that elixirs and concoctions can provide in both battle and subjugation. He often trades and buys these elixirs from unscrupulous alchemists and dealers who are willing to cater to his morbid interests. Taruk sees these substances as tools of power and control, using them for nefarious purposes. His knowledge of poisons and their deadly effects is extensive, making him all the more dangerous to those who cross his path.   As your companion who once served as a slave to Taruk looks upon him, old memories resurface, and the air grows heavy with unspoken tension. Taruk, the bandit lord, serves as a living reminder of the Horned King's oppressive rule and the horrors of slavery. It remains to be seen whether old wounds will be reopened or if forgiveness can be offered to this treacherous bandit lord.
