The Iron Collar Guild

The Iron Collar is a Sheriff's Guild that has been active for almost as long as there have been outlaws in the realm. It is primarily a service union that provides official certification for Bounty Hunters to operate legally in the Realm. Most Exarchs tend to prefer using Iron Collar Sheriffs as town guards and for bounty work owing to the high standards maintained through the guild's certification program. The guild members are the official guard of The City of Legends and they are the only Sheriffs that have the authority to operate within the city limits.

Culture

Judges and Exarchs of the realm sometimes post bounties for criminals that have escaped trial, hunting down and bringing in these individuals is the Iron Collar's specialty. Due to this proximity they have a close relationship and a deep respect for, law enforcement. The Sheriffs of the guild have many benefits that other sheriffs do not, including: career training, the vetting of suitable contracts, discounts on supplies and early notifications of bounty postings before they are posted to the boards, which gives guild members a head start.

Public Agenda

The Iron Collar Guild is an ancient institution that regulates the bounty-hunting trade. It is led by a guildmaster who holds members to a creed: 1. No bounty is worth dying for 2. People don't have bounties, criminals do 3. Capture by design, Kill by necessity 4. No Sheriff shall kill another Sheriff 5. No Hunter shall interfere with an other's Hunt 6. A Bounty is either caught or killed but never both 7. No Sheriff shall refuse aid to another The Nexian Sheriffs of the Iron Collar have a completely different job than the others who wander the lands, The Nexian branch of the guild is in charge of guard duty for the city of legends. They apprehend suspects and jail them in The Slammer (if they dont have bounties on their heads) to await their trial before the King's court.

Assets

The Iron Collar guild has branches in a great many places in the realms, especially cities. They have prisoner detention and transport infrastructures at all of their branches.
