Thedran son of Theros

High Priest (a.k.a. Lightbringer)

Thedran Son of Theros (Human, Male, 40, Cleric) stands as the unyielding spiritual leader of Witherhelm Keep, his dedication to the goddess Pharasma evident in both his words and deeds. Within the hallowed halls of his church, the Altar of Pharasma serves as a sacred focal point, where the living seek solace, and the departed find their final rest.   Clad in ceremonial vestments adorned with symbols of Pharasma, Thedran carries a ritual dagger—a skane—that doubles as both a holy symbol and a practical weapon. The blade, with a glowing blue hue, bears a stylized depiction of the goddess's face and hair on the pommel. This dagger is a versatile tool for Thedran, used to hold open prayer scrolls, perform death rites, cut shrouds for the departed, and, when necessary, to sever the umbilical cords of newborns.   Thedran's responsibilities span the triad of Pharasma's concerns. A skilled midwife, he assists in the birthing process, ensuring the safety of both mother and child. As a keeper of prophecy, he records and interprets the cryptic visions of those touched by fate. However, his primary duty lies in being a steward of the dead, safeguarding graveyards from desecration and protecting the memories of the departed.   In the face of the ceaseless undead threat, Thedran's hatred for these abominations burns bright. His role as a Pharasmin inquisitor is to hunt down and eradicate the undead and those who seek to defy the natural order. This duty extends beyond the confines of Witherhelm Keep, as Thedran and his followers relentlessly oppose any who would create or control the undead.   While Pharasmin priests, in general, can be brusque, Thedran's demeanor is tempered by a genuine love for the smallfolk of Witherhelm Keep. His sermons resonate through stone halls, offering solace to those who mourn and inspiring the Boneguard to face the relentless tide of the undead with unwavering resolve.
