Dragon's Bane

Created from the blood of the last Dragonlord Dragon’s Bane is easily one of the strongest weapons in all of Nibmu. It is designed for a god named Anah. When a user comes to it with the soul of a dragon, the sword can tap into that spirit and use it to do magic.

Forming of the Blade:

The forging of the blade took several materials. The first being the blood of the last Dragonlord Kilgharrah. The creator, Nidhogg, took a stone from the blood of the dragon it melted the impurities out and carbonated the blade. The carbonized iron than mixed with silver to create the size of the blade. Spirit energy freely flows through every piece of the sword, though it doesn’t flow as freely through carbonized iron. Those weak areas broke under pressure from the creator, and the blade was melted down and reformed.   Using magic Nidhogg melted down the word and separated the silver from it. He kept the silver hot and worked with the iron. The metal proved resistant to all spirit making impossible to conduct the energy. He created another composite metal by bonding carbonated iron to obsidian. The obsidian acted as a bonding agent for the metal forcing spirit to run through the iron. The second blade created was near unbreakable, but the girth of the blade became too much. When Nidhogg tested the blade, it became impossible to get the blade through spirit powered armor.   Nidhogg melted Dragon’s Bane a third time. He heated the blade tempered beat the blade lean and created a profile the size of a nanometer. He a piece of armor and sliced straight through. He used the blade for several days working it. The edge never dulled, but the weapon was still not finished.   Every sword needs a scabbard, and Nidhogg wanted nothing more than to make Dragon’s Bane’s scabbard as important as the blade itself. Carved from oak, carved with spell work. The scabbard protects against magic and heals the sword of any damage. The sword and scabbard are connected, if one is lost then the other can be used to find it.   Later in the sword’s life, the weapon is damaged. While the blade remained whole, the handle broke. By that time Anah had journeyed all over Nibmu and helped many. A new handle was made, and the blade reformed. The reformers added another metal Adamant, which coated the outside, and jewels made from spirits of thunder. The new handle added was created by the orc people, it taken from their Tree of Life. The new properties of the weapon gave ever wielder the ability to create as well as destroy.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Made of a composite material. Iron from the blood a dragon, mixed with obsidian to allow spirit energy to flow through it. To lengthen the blade the forger combined the iron with silver all of it melted in a coal forge.   Later additions of the sword have a handle made from a Tree of Life and the blade is hardened by a layer of Adamant.

Significance

Used by legendary god Anah-aoshaka in his adventures. The weapon has been used as a liberator to many, protector to others, and destroyer to its enemies. It fought the witch Baby Yaga, gods Adro, and Vasna, the Strigoi, battled against the monsters known as Typhon.

Raw materials & Components
Dragon's Blood, with the iron separated. The iron content of a dragon's blood is roughly double the amount of the average creature. The original amount was enough to form a long dagger.   Obsidian, within Nidhogg's fortress, is several obsidian weapons held by Fates. Those weapons still hold their spirit energy. Nidhogg used powerful spells to fragment the weapon. He used even more powerful spells to melt them into the iron and use them to send spirit energy through the blade.   Silver finishes the blade adding several inches to the sword length. It is mixed into the iron letting the spirit energy from the obsidian flow through the silver as well as the rest of the sword.
Tools
Magic, the spells unknown. Several others tried to replicate it, but few can get the spell right to pull the iron out of the blood.
