Oleg Zdenkav III
Once the beloved heir of his House, Oleg first spurned his family by joining the Druzhina - traditionally a role for younger sons, not heirs - and then caused a major uproar by accepting a posting in the Imperial Guard when the Tithe came, volunteering for the dangerous job of infantry commander. While his family worked to disinherit him from all wealth, power and status, Zdenkav rose to command his entire battalion of infantry rather quickly, showing a keen talent for leadership and winning affection from his men as a noble who renounced his privilege to serve with them instead - a fact that many of his fellow highborn officers rather resent him for though.
