Most Honored Ethite

Most Honored Ethite is a title given by the lead clergy of the Ethite religion to people who are believed to best embody the religion's ethics.

Awarding the Title

The title is not given on a regular basis, but when one of the lead clergy of the faith believe that someone deserves it, they present their suggestion. The lead clergy then meet and discuss the person's merit and must unanimously agree that the person receive the honor. If they do, an official announcement is passed on the lower clergy, as well as to the person, if they are still alive. The person's title as Most Honored and their actions as also recorded in the Book of Ethics. There are no other requirements to be met, meaning that the honor can be bestowed on someone who is not of the religion.

Famous Holders

Because the title is only awarded at the suggestion of the lead clergy, the number of people who have been given the honor is relatively low. These include Kai Nespola, whose medical research led to a great many people saved during the Pandemic of 1385, Kel Monday, who helped numerous wizards escape Linakra and founded Kel's Rebellion, and Bridget Venalinen, who famously rescued the Ethite people before Ethion's inception.

Significance

There are no awards that come with the title, but the awarding of it means the person's actions will be recorded in the Book of Ethics and their actions will continue to be upheld as examples that all Ethite followers should aspire to. Ethite women study the Book of Ethics at length before undergoing the Ordeal of the Mirage, and though no woman has received this honor immediately after her ordeal, many girls imagine it.
