When the QU theater came into view, all of Sapphire's worries were replaced with pride. Most students probably didn't know that the university's designer had had sprite heritage. Then again, most students probably weren't sprites themselves.

Queensville University, located in Queensville is one of Zenxon's largest universities. It is known for its sprite-designed architecture and is also the first university in Zenxon to offer classes for the study of magic.

History

Queensville University began in 1550 during a celebration of magic in Queensville. Over a century after magic had officially been declared legal in Zenxon, this is was first celebration of its kind, and a way to draw visitors from other countries. As part of the festivities, Amala Min constructed a hexagonal, sprite-inspired tent made of Aadia poles and aadia fabric with Warding Patterns woven into them. Jokingly dubbed "Queensville University," the space was intended for demonstrations and workshops in magic usage.

Though the tent was only intended to stay up through the summer, the events held there were so popular and it was kept up longer, with workshops and presentations being planned into the fall. By the end of the year, the decision had been made to convert it to a permanant structure. To honor its origins, the QU Theater, as it had been named, was built of wood, rather than stone. Along one of the inside walls a stage was built, but no permanant seating was put in. This way, the building maintained its original purpose. The stage could be used for performances and demonstrations, but the open space could also be used for teaching.

The theater remained popular, with most events held there centering on the study of magic, and thirteen years later, Yetita Tatana decided make the original name real, funding a university to be built around the original theater. Subsequent buildings have been constructed in Sprite styles, to match the theater, but very few sprites have had the opportunity to attend the university themselves.

Today, QU is one of the country's largest universities, second only to Zenxon University in Serendipity. Though programs in the study of magic are still available, it is less known for magic study than it once was, especially with the rise of Copperridge University in Suxad. The theater remains a popular attraction for locals and visitors in Queensville.
