Every Savron has a magical focus. An item that exists within the world that calls to them. Not even the Kalynxis could answer the why when they were consulted, but whether it is a magical link, like calling to like, a magical symbiote or something else altogether is unknown. They simply DO.
For Savron Tynan of the Atranameus Sphere it was a quill. A well made quill that called to him from a modest merchant's shop some miles away from his home. Completely innocous and seeminly unmagical in every way. Until the urge to pick it up came over him so strongly that he couldn't resist. It is said that when a Savron finds their focus the Sphere itself stops for just a moment as if the world was holding its breath. It certainly was something that young Tynan would never forget.
Magical Abilities
Whether a Savron's focus is inherently magical or not, when a Savron claims it, it becomes wholly infused with their power and develops specific powers of its own. For Tynan, his quill could do three things.
1) As long as he had met the person and touched them once the quill could send magical messages to them anywhere and over any distance. This was extremely useful to Tynan when dealing with the other Savron's or announcing a visit. It was not however always convenient for them when and where it appeared.
2) It can absorb magic and infuse it into the ink which can in turn infuse magic into either the writing or the items the ink is itself infused with. This is a delicate process, tricky at the best of times, but an incredibly versatile ability.
3) The quill can use Tynon's blood as ink, infuse it with magic and bend the physical laws of magic. This is it's most powerful ability, extremely dangerous and what makes the other Savron's have respect and a little fear of what Tynan could do if he wanted. This ability is considered the most powerful ability of all of the Savron's Focuses.

Author's Notes
But why have you called a metal quill Tynon's Bone? It doesn't look like a bone, its not made out of bones, it has nothing to DO with bones! I know, I know. I haven't figured it out yet. But I loved the phrase Blood of My Bone and it's staying!! Give me time, i'll sort it out.Freja
