Second Life Rehabilitation

Founded in 2041, Second Life Rehabilitation brings innovative new technology to the industry to help those affected by Dissociative Psychosis Disorder. Our doctors and counselors use cutting-edge medicine and counseling to treat the abuse of cybernetic implants. We can stabilize and even reverse the neural degeneration caused by DPD and help you or your loved one Feel Human Again.   Second Life ran an aggressive ad campaign in the early 40s that extended to all forms of media. Their commercials featured glaring success stories such as "Tony" and "Martha", who were able to rejoin society after being apprehended by C-Swat. Within their first year of operation, they expanded from their central clinic in the City Center, adding a second clinic in Watson. Desperate families paid thousands of eddies to Second Life to treat their loved ones who had fallen over the edge.   The company began to come under scrutiny in early 2044 when a channel 54 news report broke about patient abuse and mistreatment. Federal investigators began to look into the company, and found that not only were the clinics guilty of gross negligence and abuse of patients, they also deliberately misled the public regarding their touted "90% Success Rate". Experts discovered that their success rate was closer to 30%, and many patients were simply kicked to the street when they failed to improve.   The company declared bankruptcy in November of 2044 after the family of John Westinghouse successfully sued Second Life in the negligent death of their son. The 8m ED judgement, as well as rising public backlash resulted in them closing their doors in January of 2045. The patients that were in treatment were discharged quietly back to the streets, many without informing their families or friends.
