Nilam

The world of Nilam is one filled with conflict, opportunity, and change.   Four known continents spread the oceans, filled with nations thousands of years old with long histories of bloodshed, change, and enlightenment. Each land filled with different races, creeds, and people.   Wahar and Archin fill the western and eastern horizons respectively, with the conjoined continents of Kalin and Efaanu between the two.   Wahar is an old and strange continent, where beasts and uncontrolled magic hold more sway over civilization than civilization does over them.   Efaanu has seen competing religions and ideologies battle it out for untold centuries, where its people worship the celestial or the elemental, and demonize those who chose the other.   Kalin is a land of metal and gears. Here technology and technomancy have become more common than the magic of old, and nation states vie in the shadows against each other for power and influence.   Archin in the east claims the title as the home of "true" civilization with the oldest empire in existence. Yet that empire is in its final decline, and the continent sees the rise of new ones in its wake.   All of these lands, despite their vast distances from each other, have something in common: opportunity. A smart and dedicated person can find their way in any of these disparate worlds. Soldiers can always make money fighting someones war, explorers can also wander into the unknown and find new treasures and mysteries, and of course adventurers can always find someone in need of their services.   No matter where you call home, Nilam has opportunity and danger in equal measure.
