Gale, a tale of the forest {English}

Let me tell you the tale, of the man in the woods
Branches of bark and skin of the oak
He does no wrong, but anger him dear
And you will suffer his ire of nature's mir
His name is Gale, nature's display
The man in the woods, Lord of the Telamirein
— Bardic poetry about Gale
There are myths and legends retelling about a mysterious being that lives in Telamirein's Forest. He goes by many names and is called many things, but one commonly agreed upon name is Gale. A popular tale of the Daimoii people in north-western Orfordwhelm, there are several people that talk about this man.

Summary

The tale of Gale most commonly told is the one about a man that is seen on the outskirts of the great forest of Telamirein. He has skin that is green-yellow in its color, a skirt or short pants made out of animal hide and a garment that is going from one of the shoulders over the breasts and hanging loosely from there down to the back. There is always wind around him, therefore the name "Gale" which in Renvar means "Strong winds". It is said that he is very willing to talk to strangers, even motioning them to come close to him. He is, however, very vengeful against those who hurt the woods in some way. Many woodcutters are therefore afraid of him. Still, he means no harm for thouse he see as no danger.

Historical Basis

The Great Forest of Telamirein is a largely unknown area and nobody knows for certain what exists in it. While outskirts have villages, hunters and woodcutters that work within, nobody can be certain of what hides within. The people how dare to cross it, like large armies and groups of people, have stories of many odd creatures and being they have met, drunk or otherwise. If there is a man like Gale, he can't possibly be human since he has been seen for at least 1500 years. There could exist sentient races that hide from humans, especially in the northern part that is much, much more unknown for the people that inhabits Telamirein. Spirits is another possiblity but are rare and mostly avoid contact.

Spread

This myth is quite well known. Many variations of it exist among the various people who live around the great forest. The Daimoii's version is the most widespread as they tell of the old man who talks to strangers and mysteriously disappears but means no harm.

Variations & Mutation

From the Hestians' parts of Nilaminra, there is the tale of Vent, Windwhisperer. He is very similar to Gale, almost identical. The difference is that of his appearance with more cloth clothes and his singing ability that is capable of luring women away from work and their lives. Some tell the tale of Gale in another manner, that of a forest spirit who takes the form of a man to steal or take children into the woods to never be seen again. This happens to those who have angered the woods, who has done it meaningless harm. The children are never seen again, or in few instances comes back, traumatised, never able to speak again and dies young. A version connects Gale to that he is an aspect of Rhyn, the God of nature since they both are always connected to it. This form is of an older man who watches over villages from the dangers of the forest but also provides advice to farmers and woodcutters where to work. He is mostly their patron diety and not hostile to them, allowing them to use His lands.
