Red Fox

Once upon a time there was a Red Fox, sly and shrew-like most of its kin...
— The beginning of the famous story "The Fox and The Rabbit"
Unmistakenly is the fact that the Red Fox is an animal that interests many for its beautiful fur and majestic movement. It is also one of Rhyn's sacred animals and is prohibited from being hunted for sports or otherwise. The red fox carries a great respect for many living in the countryside where they keep rodents and other pests away when present. One could say that the red fox is a good omen and blessing, just like its relative the Crystal Fox.

Apperance

The red fox range from small to medium-sized, having a length of 50-55 centimetres on average. They have fluffy tails which at the top are black, dark-red, light-red or white beyond the normal red colour. Their fur is dense to keep the warmth close to the skin. Their short legs make them able sprinters and are considered amongst the fastest ground-moving creature in Telamirein.
I find them... charming. The tamed ones I have met are attention seeking, almost demanding. They are not a pet for me but I can see people falling for their beauty and fluffyness.

Behaviour

I... I can swear by Rhyn... the fox just took the coins on the table and placed them on the other side for no reason...
— Nilander farmer seated outside of a tavern
Red foxes are depicted as sly and cunning in children's tales and myths alike. A clear example is the fox in "The Fox and The Rabbit" story where the Fox shows great intellect and cunning in trying to find food before the race.
They also seem to like to trick other animals and humans. People find their behaviour more alike to a cat when they are socialized and friendly, being very independent and demanding.
