Heren is a colonel in Nekuram's Army and chief of his own formation created by Arthon and himself.

Personal history

Uris Heren was born in the capital to a commoner family, third of four siblings to be. Heren's father had previously served in Nekuram's army where he participated in a levy and militia unit during a revolt put down by the then-current Regent of Nekuram. Hearing about his father's adventures during that time of his life, Heren decided early to become a part of the army at the age of fifteen. During this time he was chosen by a low-ranking officer as an attendant and orbentan. He was brought into combat few times during the reign of the former King of Necur and mostly as a levied soldier of ornder in towns near the capital. He rose to become a captain after having been granted officer training at Nekuram's military study school and learned from being an attendant to the officer.
It was as an officer Heren met Arthon, a half-demon that had been taken in by the former Demon Lord. Arthon at the time was studying magic with the Exilos. They only took note of each other at the time since Arthon was much a figure to avoid due to him being a halfver and connected to the Exilos.
When Arthon later became the regent after the latest one's death and the death of the former Demon Lord, he began reforming the army. This, in turn, allowed Heren to climb to the rank of colonel, as captain was the highest a commoner was able to become before the reform. During the reform, Arthon was looking into creating special forces that were different from how the army was fighting. Heren had studied bandit attack patterns and his actions as captain during the suppression of insurrections in the south made him a prime candidate to discuss new tactics and strategy. Heren became a early part of the New Corps of Young and a primary example of one from this group.
Heren would find a mutual understanding with Arthon about new tactics and the new reforms, which would eventually lead to the creation of The Scabannader. Heren was thereafter promoted to the rank of colonel over that specific unit and given special assignments and orders of training by Arthon personally.
When the The War for Marlun once again started, Heren and his unit participated in early skirmish engagements against the small defensive forces that The United Kings Council had in Marlun. They did not, however, participate in any of the main battles against humanity's forces afterwards. It is unknown by many in Nekuram, except for possibly Arthon and a select few, where Heren and his unit are.

Intellectual Characteristics

Heren has been noted over time as a capable commander by his soldiers and superiors. Before becoming a colonel he took time to examine his soldiers' conditions and how well they felt before battles. Even when he was not able to affect whether or not his unit at the time was going into battle, he did what he could to make sure that no sick or over fatigued person was going into battle and risking themselves and others' lives. This quality, while odd for a commander in the eyes of older officers and veterans, did have a moral effect for soldiers under him.
His overall intellect in tactics have been attributed to his capacity others and patterns from groups. This made him effective at learning from others, especially when he tried to understand his enemies. He did not, however, act much on this except when he was given full command, making him the kind of officer standing behind a commanding one and not acting on his intellect and knowledge, except when lives of his own soldiers were at stake.

Physical condition

Having lived the life of a stonecutter and labourer in his early life, Heren has a good physical constitution. When joining the army he trained to become an archer but was chosen into main battlelines instead as a combat soldier. He has been a strong man ever since and not taken any hurting or damaging wounds that would break a man like him.
He has had a lack of endurance, however, when duelling and practising his weapons' skill alone. While not a fear overall, it might be hindrance overtime in prolonged combat against single opponents.
