Hueso Iron
Properties
Material Characteristics
Physically indistinguishable from regular iron.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Touching it with bare skin will allow you to feel a strange rhythmic pulsing.
Compounds
Like mundane iron, it can be carbonized to create steel or hydrated to form rust. Strangely, the process is more difficult for both, like the iron is actively resisting the change. Hueso Iron retains some of its more mystical attributes in these new forms, such as rust causing hallucinations.
Geology & Geography
All iron mined in Elcadaver is of this variety. One desperate Wanderer tried to sell his shield for funds, only to be arrested on forgery charges. His shield had failed the simple pulse test.
Life & Expiration
Hueso Iron doesn't appear to degrade at all.
History & Usage
Cultural Significance and Usage
The majority of religions across Elcadaver believe that all iron comes from the shattered bones of the Almighty. It features quite heavily in the building of churches, temples, Foundries and mosques. One or two cults ban it's use outright, but most recognize it's usefulness for daily life and other less savory activities. Many even incorporate the iron right into their rituals.
Refinement
Hueso Iron ore is found in an incredibly pure state, as if it was refined in the time of gods and then buried.
Hazards
Those who work the iron too long find that start to feel the pulse everywhere. It becomes inescapable. Their life begins to follow the rhythm. Often times, these are already religious folk and they will find themselves joining the local clergy. Others find they can't enjoy music anymore, it being so out of line with the beat. More than a few simply go mad.
