Gravity Generator
In the early days of ham spaceflight, the need for artificial gravity aboard spacecraft was quickly identified. The earliest artificial gravity generators were sections of spacecraft that rotated quickly enough to simulate gravity through constant radial acceleration.
This was recognized as being impractical for most purposes, and other solutions were sought out.
Artificial gravity generators are absolutely vital on permanent spaceborne settlements and on the small moons and asteroids. The relatively low mass and low density artificial worlds of Saturnia's Nine Circles rely completely on artificial gravity generators to provide a comfortable amount of gravitational force.
