Jububnan

The Jububnans are a humanoid species that resemble toads, standing on a single leg and hopping around with great agility. They come in a variety of colors, often with neon splashes and splotches. Despite their strange appearance, they are quite intelligent and possess advanced technology. The origin of their species remains a mystery, but they claim their ancestors were starfaring wanderers.
Jububnans are typically solitary wanderers, rarely encountering others of their kind. However, they are able to reproduce through parthenogenesis, allowing them to spawn dozens of eggs during their lifespan. During the periods leading up to egg-laying, they puff up to almost three times their normal size. This behavior is believed to be a remnant from a time when they intimidated predators with their increased size.
Although they often travel alone, Jububnans sometimes form tight-knit familial communities known as "tangles." These groups may be created for protection, staffing starships, or watching over specific sites of interest. The elders of these groups encourage some of their offspring to depart and explore the galaxy, ensuring that the Jububnan species is spread throughout the reaches of space. Despite their small stature, Jububnans are a force to be reckoned with, thanks to their agility, intelligence, and reproductive abilities.
