The Cut

The Cut are a group of Lashuntas who have intentionally undergone a process known as "the severance," which removes their natural telepathic abilities. They are a cultural movement within Lashunta society that opposes the strict telepathic control and authoritarianism of the LashJari, the dominant planetary nation of Lashuntas.
The Cut are a loosely organized group of rebels who seek to overthrow the LashJari and establish a more egalitarian society. They believe that the severance allows for true individuality and personal freedom, and that the telepathic control of the LashJari is a form of mental slavery.
The Cut have a reputation for being fierce fighters and skilled infiltrators, and they use their lack of telepathic abilities to their advantage. They communicate through hand signals and other non-verbal cues, and are adept at hiding in plain sight. Some members of the Cut have even taken to wearing masks to obscure their facial expressions and prevent their thoughts from being read by telepaths.
Despite their efforts, the Cut face significant opposition from the LashJari and other more traditional Lashunta groups. The severance is seen by many as a form of self-mutilation and is highly stigmatized in Lashunta society. The Cut are often viewed as dangerous and unstable, and many Lashuntas believe that their actions threaten the stability of their society.
