Articles
Eyes of Samara
This article was a delight to read and so well written that it could be pass as a real life myth. After reading it I decided to make a myth myself this WE, which I had not originally planned. The extracts also enhanced the experience and gave away the thought that was put into it. This gave me the idea to also emulate that method a bit which I turned into using sections with the conversations of characters.
Magical Storms
A greatly written article with an interesting take on magical storm, especially the fact that they can gain consciousness. The section about the different adaptations of lifeforms in the area was a nice addition and very well thought out. I was working on a magical storm article at the time this was released and it gave me inspirations to add new sections that I did not think about to add before.
Manticore Sausage
I found this quite an amusing read. Before I had not really thought about what people in general would do with the meat of monsters that are killed. This gives a nice insight in possibilities and the recipes are well thought out. It could be that at some point I will make something similar from one of the monsters in my world.
Cosmology of Morning Realm
I think this is one of my favorite reads of this worldember just due to the fact how interesting the world is and cool ideas that are incorporated in it. I also like the general overview articles which Nnie is creating more off. I also started the same process this WE with creating articles for categories (like the encyclopedia Nioratha) and it is interesting to see how others approach it.
Tanuki
I have always been intrigued by japanese culture and myths. Seeing how this folklore is integrated in another world is quite interesting to read and something that I want to emulate as well in the future. And of course the cute tanuki drawing is a bonus :p
Dwarven Twists
This article has incredible detail and gives a lot of insight in the way that beards are incorporated in Dwarven culture. It is great how thought was put in the different social statuses depending on it and even into caring for the beards. It gave me lots of new ideas about cultures for my world which I will eventually get to writing about.
Brass Coins
The Brass Coins is a well thought out article and gives a good explanation as to why they came to be due to historical events. I think the article has eye for detail and for realism as well. This eye for realism is commendable and something that I would like to strife for more as well in future articles.
Periwinkle's Token Dispenser
A fun article with an interesting concept. This peculiar thing can potentially be the start of some cool adventures depending on the weird items that come out of it. Tillerz articles often have a lot of fun factor to them. It is something that I think I would want to add more in my world as I only have one real fun items, the breadshooter. However, with my frog parade article this WE I followed Tillerz example of making Gnomes do funny stuff.
Higgstech
Technology is not something I wrote a lot about in my world myself yet. Nonetheless I always find it interesting to read especially to see what techs people come up with for sf worlds. The higgstech article is an excellent read and intriguing read. Using a singularity as a drive and for many others things is a cool concept and they way that dylon writes it to make it understandable is well done. In a way it inspires me to write more on the technologies of my world in the future, especially the ones of the Gods.
White Soldier
Of course in the read challenge article I can't forget one of the shrooms of Serukis. The article itself was a great read but it was actually Serukis' plan to write only mushrooms that got me and also many others in discord chat to write their own mushroom articles this WE. And my mushroom article became one of the WE articles I liked the most so big thanks to Serukis for the inspiration!
New Year Resolutions
I had a very good year for worldbuilding in WE and also a good year in general due to marrying and buying a house. I liked the vast leap of progress I made in the past year and have now a clearer picture of how my world should look like and what I like to add. So for this year I have a few goals:
- Participating in challenges
- Adding category articles and summaries to make it easy for people to learn more about my world
- Improve world navigation
- Adding more broader view articles, such as magic use in my world
- Expanding the worldbuilding of the Pavan Empire, the Human realms and the Elves
Thanks for the shout out and kind words, my friend. It made my day. Excellent work getting the challenge done! I'll have to read a few of these myself.
No problem you really made some great stuff this WE :D Be sure to check some of these out indeed! ^^
