River Gate

Geography

Semperia Plateau is a secluded plateau in Terios which is surrounded by mountain ranges at all sides. Because of its elevation and the high mountains at its sides it is rather difficult to reach. The best way to enter the region is by travelling along the river into the various canyons.
This natural protection has helped the Semperians who inhabit the region to retain their independece for most of its history.

Landmarks

River Gate

The River Gate can be found near the end of the canyon and proved to be a perfect location to put up defences. A large gate was constructed at the canyon side forcing any invading force to try to take a much more difficult road. In addition to the gate the edge of the region is filled with watchtowers at regular intervals.

Semperia

The city of Semperia is built within the canyons walls in the upper part of the region. The living areas and common areas of the city are found near the canyon walls while the mines and industries can be found much deeper underground.
As both canyon walls are used for the settlement several bridges have been constructed conncecting the two sides. This has been done on several different heights creating a real web of bridges.

Resources and economy

Mining

The Dwarves and Daski Elves of the Semperia region are known for their mining practices. Many of the canyon walls and nearby mountains are filled with various resources which made them quite rich.
Most of their income used to common from gold and gems but other resources such as iron and copper are mined as well. One of the most lucrative resources is however the mining of Tremor Falls.

Glow Crystal

Glow Crystals make life underground much easier and are found in great amounts in the region. These crystals are able to create light in even the darkest of places and are commonly found in many underground settlements as a substitute for the sun.
