Kos
Kos is the only known continent within Nithos. Some people believe their to be another continent far more beautiful thatn Kos to the south but there is no evidence for that. The only other places are, to the east, The Isle of Wyrms, The Sea of Birth, The Resting Place of Leta, the edge of the world, and, to the west, the Land of the Dead.
Kos is a continent divided in two. The Kentica Mountain Range is the wall that separates The Dashet Desert, to the east, and the lush grasslands to the west. On the southern coast nestled between two branches of the mountain range is the Gillia Valley. Humans inhabit all parts of Kos but interaction between these three major regions is rare.
Geography
Gillia is a valley surrounded by the Kentica Mountain Range. Rivers flow from the mountains and make numerous lakes there.
To the east over the mountains is the Dashet Desert which covers most of the eastern half of the continent. The great Amu River, the largest river in Kos, begins its journey in the Kenticas and stretches to the eastern coast. North of the desert is a savanna which transitions into wetlands near the northern coast.
To the west over the mountains is an ancient forest covering the hills with colossal trees which spreads down the southern coast. Beyond the forest is the sprawling grassland littered with thousands of streams and rivers filled with a variety of flora and fauna. The coasts are covered in pure white sand that leads into cold clear water.
Fauna & Flora
In the west the trees that make up the ancient forest are on average 500ft tall, their wood is harder than iron and nearly completely fireproof. Giant Oxen peacefully roam the grasslands which are not without its share of predators but none of them dare approach the herd. The serpents of the Amu are probably the most intelligent beast in Kos. The oldest serpents refrain from attacking human boats if the humans give it food every couple of weeks but if they ever stop then at least one boat will be sunk. In Gillia pale blue deers can be born. They do not fear humans and often wander into settlements.
