Utility

Used for warfare exclusively and are proven very effective as they shrug off cannon fire and can ram wooden ships with great effect.

Manufacturing

Built in the Montoplaar and Egliði shipyards. Require large amounts of charcoal and iron to produce, so they are not quick to build or cheap.

Social Impact

They have given the Akini Alliance a major naval advantage over all other nations but this has seen limited utility beyond the Imperium-Alliance war where the armored ships are necessary to keep the Imperium out of Alliance waters.

Access & Availability

They are limited to just 36 ships so far as they are very resource intense to build. These ships are stationed on the line against the Imperium Electi or used as capital ship on the borders of the Akini Alliance.

Complexity

Are built much like wooden war ships but fitted with armor plates to increase their defensive capabilities.

Discovery

Armored ships are unique to the Heliopian Dominion, where they are used as warships, especially on the warfront with the Imperium Electi. They are more resistant to cannon fire and damage but are more resource-intense to build. They were first built in 1387 and have since become standard for military ship design in the Alliance.
