Boktan is a small outpost and research centre controlled by the Qil'Soran Empire. It was the first known outreach of the Qil'Soran Empire beyond its normal borders.
Description
Qil'Sora refers to Boktan as a "great expedition to gather large amounts of resources from the ages before". However, this is not the case, it has become a prison outpost keeping large numbers of people to pay of their debts to the crown. Boktan is entirely run by members of the Qil'Soran military and arcane schooling, however several organisations inlcuding the Obsidian Forge and Shade Cloaks have managed to inflitrate the camp.
Despite its prison-like atmosphere, the outpost is designed to be a small town, with the majority of the riches being held within the Imperial Palace, including a large crystal called the Moonstriver. The Moonstriver creates and arcane ward around the outpost keeping it from being attacked without the correct permissions to enter the city. The crystal is said to have originated in a ruin within the Slycol Desert from a time before The Shatter, making the Moonstriver one of the oldest working arcane machines in Nonvyrox.
There is no formal inn or tavern within Boktan, so many homes around the Imperial Palance remain empty allowing visiting guests to have safe and assured accommodation during their visit. In the central pub, The Sun's Smile, there are constant nights of gambling, followed by the brewings of drunken fights.

History
Boktan was constructed in 702 AR by the guiding council on behalf of the Qil'Soran Empire to scour the Slycol Desert for remains and ruins after the shatter. Expedition crews who gather relics or information about ruins are rewarded. The many expedtions that return empty handed are not paid for their efforts instead having to fend for themselves as best they can in the expansive desert.
The Obsidian Forge and the Shade Cloaks are both keen to gather information and relics for their own purposes. Whilst the Qil'Soran Empire has primary control of Boktan, a large number of spies and theives have been placed in the outpost to gather relics, information, and support for their respective organizations,
