Ebonysand Flower

The Ebonysand Flower is a flowe that grows among the sands of the Slycol Desert that grow stornger the closer to Void's Death.

Description

The flowers of the Ebonysand are a deep black, similar in a sense to the void itself. The leaves of the flower have white splotches on it that seem to be a remnant of the decay that it has experienced as the result of Arcane Storms. The flowers seem to bloom more frequently as it heads towards Void's Death. almost as if they are drawn to the decay that is embedded deep in the crater.

History

Since 658 AR, there has been a clear understanding of the Ebonysand Flower and its affinity for decay. The flower was discovered to have protective purposes. When its flowers are crushed up and scattered along an opening, it would help protect a space from the effects of an Arcane Storm. Once this was discovered, many people started to get as many Ebonysand Flowers as they could to protect themselves.   By the start of the Ravenous War in 705 AR, the Ebonysand Flower had been picked until almost extinction. This led to the discovery that decay and blight leads to continued growth of the flower. As a result, several Skulker Bands created patches of blight and decay through the use of Primal magic. This would become a place where they could grow these flowers themselves. However, this would not be of any benefit to anyone else and only the bands, and caused more chaos with the already magically destroyed region.

It is really cool that these flowers can protect people from arcane decay, but awkward that they need blight/decay to grow. Interesting plant.
