The Sword Tree

Fyinraldla, otherwise known as the Sword Tree is a Lorneth tree, one of the rare trees grown in the elven lands, that was planted at what was once the home of Florin Greyeyes, Half Elven Knight of Eroth. He had named the tree, which in the common tongue translates to gift from home. He cultivated the tree to remind him of his homeland, and cared for it. To him it was a symbol of what he left behind, and what he was fighting for in the Shadow war, so far from his home. The Elven people had retreated into the safety of their forest home and tried to stay out of the war. Florin, who had grown up and was raised as an Elf, knew that the forsed of Tahkene would not content themselves with just the human lands though. He left his homeland to fight the forces of shadow, in hopes of stopping them before they could ever get to ravage Elvenhome. He was successful, but had lost his home. He was no longer allowed to return and had to live among the humans.   He cultivated Fyinraldla to cure some of his homesickness. Lorneth trees are extremely difficult to care for outside of the elven lands. In addition to the normal nutrients that all plants need , the Lorneth tree needs magical energies that all elves give off to survive. Additionally the touch of non-elves can cause the tree or it's leaves to rot and shrivel. Even most half-elves have to much of a strong human side to safely touch the trees. There seems to be some correlation between the nature of the person and their closeness to nature that affects how the tree responds to them. Because of this, if was a rare thing that The Mithril knight was able to care for the tree.   If the tree is real and not a legend, it would be located somewhere in the Godwood, where the Forin Greyeyes' old Castle was located, back before Emic declared independence.
