Elves
Elves are, on average, a bit shorter than humans, and also more slender. Male elves are only a bit broader than the females, and their facial features also appear a bit feminine to non-elves. Elves have pointed ears, and little to no body hair.
Elves live much longer than most other intelligent races in the Known World, but none are old enough to have witnessed the God Wars or The Shattering. This longevity is thought by some to explain the apparent aloofness that many elves exhibit towards their shorter-lived neighbors.
Elves can be found as a minority population in most known nations. They have also formed their own nations since The Shattering. Each elven nation appears to follow different customs and life-styles than other elven nations. Some live nomadic lifestyles, apparently in harmony with nature.
Others, like the gemstone elves of Mirinveld, bend nature to their will, and excel in the magical arts. However, the elven nations usually discourage visits by non-elves, and do not discuss their internal affairs with outsiders. This lack of openness often creates an atmosphere of mistrust with their non-elven neighbors.
