Flathac Anotor

Born in the port city of Cothras, Kingdom of Dehann, Flathac grew up seeing bits of culture from across the world. This feuled his thirst for knowledge, and as soon as he was of age he presented himself to the main Temple of Idikai as a novitiate. He would go on to become a respected contributor to the Encyclopedia Noreria, traveling the world to interview people and seek out knowledge, authoring more than half of the articles. Anotor was born in the year 1259 of the Age of Knowledge, to parents Shann and Oraim Anotor. He learned to read and write at an early age, and would often write notebooks filled with observations and things he found interesting. Many of his early writings mentioned that he felt as though he did not have enough time to see all he wanted. As a boy, Flathac would spend time at the docks watching the ships come in and offload their cargos, often sneaking into the warehouses to pry into crates. Most of the warehouse managers ignored him, once it became clear that he was not there to steal, but only to look. Occasionally, if a manager found something of particular interest, they would hold it aside to show him.
He first tried to petition as an initiate of Idikai at ten years old. He went to the small temple in Cothras, hoping they would accept him despite his youth. They did not, and in fact laughed at the boy. Undaunted, he returned every year. Finally, in his eighteenth year, he journeyed to the city of Srathi, to petition and the main temple. There he was accepted, and rose fast through the ranks. By his 20th birthday, he was traveling across the continent of Itenia, notebook in hand, recording the details of life in rural villages and cities alike. At 21, he interviewed the lone remaining survivor of the Night of the Crow, creating the only account of that night known to exist, at least outside the temples of the Disciple of the Crow.
The next decades saw Anotor continuing his work in all areas of Noreria, writing down the details of everything he came across, from the smallest of organisms to the largest of cities. Sometime in his sixth decade, the Temple of Idikai offered him a position of Teacher in the Main Temple at Srathi. He refused, saying that he would rather spend his time wander into the maw of a cavernling than sit safely behind a desk.
Anotor died in the year 1353, after a cave collapsed on him in the Lower Toothblade Mountains. He never married, choosing instead to devote his life to the expanding of the Encyclopedia Noreria.

The world is a wondrous place, and I yearn to see all of it that I can before my clock runs out.                                                                                                                                   -Flathac Anotor
