Overview of the Lesser Gods
Article submitted to the Temple of Idikai by Joassak Veayr, in the year 47 of the Age of Knowledge, published in all consecutive volumes of the Encyclopedia Noreria.
Noreria has a Pantheon of five Major gods, and a host of lesser gods. While the lesser gods are fascinating and subject to change, and I shall try to cover most of them here.
Unlike the Major gods, the lesser gods were brought into being by the belief of the people themselves. No one is sure how it began, but likely each of the lesser gods grew from an aspect of one of the Majors. As the prayers continued and grew more frequent and directed to these aspects, the lesser gods themselves came into being, distinct from the Major gods they once were. It is important to note that none of the lesser gods have temples, nor are they worshipped in a particular way. Instead, they are called on in times of need, prayed to in the moment that they are thought of. It is unkown which of these came first, and they are all of a strength, none more than another.
Rynak of the Forge, prayed to by blacksmiths and glassmakers.
Cham of the Harvest, in charge of crops and the hearth and home.
Flara of the Seasons, prayed to at the turning of the seasons, alleviates the severity of the seasons.
Sousha of the Oceans, prayed to by sailors and those who live nearby or at the mercy of the seas.
Cura of Healing, prayed to both by healers and when a person falls ill.
Soxai of the Storms
