Dark Queen

The Dark Queen is the supreme ruler of Maroka, holding absolute power over everything and everyone within the dominion. Her authority is embodied by the title "High Queen of the Obsidian Throne, Ruler by Conquest, Conqueror of the North, Queen of the Dark and Light under the Heavens." The Obsidian Throne itself is said to possess the properties of a lodestone, further emphasizing her magnetic influence over the dominion.
Officially, she is revered and adored by both citizens and nobility, while also instilling fear in her enemies. The dominion, under the rule of the Dark Queen, is known for showing no mercy to those who defy her, establishing her dominance and control.
Succession to the throne is hereditary, but princesses seeking to ascend must prove their worth either through battle or remarkable achievements. The most powerful or accomplished princess will be deemed fit to rule. Alternatively, a princess can challenge her mother, the current queen, for the throne only during the designated time of selection, managed by the Imperial Seers.
In certain circumstances, the Seers have the authority to choose a new queen, such as when the number one enemy of the dominion, known as the "Nemesis," is eliminated. The decision in this matter lies solely with the Seers, and neither the Dark Queen nor the council can influence their choice.
To ascend to the throne, the presumptive queen must undergo a ritual of awakening and a series of strict rites. The final ritual, known as "The Quickening," is performed by a trio of oracles—the Seers. If the presumptive queen successfully survives this rite, she will be reborn as a being imbued with powers befitting her rule.
As the Dark Queen, she possesses powers beyond that of normal mortals. She gains the ability to see a creature's true form and alignment, along with enhanced insight. Her skills are immediately maximized, and she ascends to the maximum level, gaining empowered spells and unique innate abilities.
Among her powers are:
Poison resistance: Have a high resistance to the most potent of poisons.
Insight: The ability to determine an individual's true intentions.
Eloquent Tongue: The skill to put her listeners at ease with her words and convince them regardless of the objective truth.
Superior Charm: The power to charm a creature without exception.
Absolute Authority: The ability to compel any creature to follow her orders, even if ordered to commit self-harm.
Tyrant: Temporarily boosts all abilities and stats twofold.
Divine Luck: Enables her to turn defeat into success twice a day.
Final Vengeance: If killed, triggers a cataclysmic event, creating a void that consumes everything within a 1.6-mile radius, leaving a crater of the void's size.
And finally, Undying Sovereign:
The Undying Sovereign's aura surrounding the Obsidian Throne grants the Dark Queen extraordinary powers and protection, reinforcing her status as an immortal ruler within its influence.
Within a radius of 500 meters from the throne, the Dark Queen becomes immortal, rendering her impervious to any attempt on her life. No matter the threat or force directed at her, she remains unharmed as long as she stays within this range.
Additionally, the aura imposes limitations on the use of psionic powers. Within a 250-meter radius from the throne, all psionic abilities become unusable, restricting any attempts to manipulate or control the Dark Queen's mind or thoughts. Furthermore, teleportation and movement out of this range become impossible, anchoring her to the vicinity of the throne.
As the Dark Queen herself enters this area, the limitations do not apply to her. She retains her ability to wield psionic powers and freely cast her spells within the 500-meter range. She remains immune to the restrictions and can wield her full strength and authority.
In the closer vicinity of the throne, within a radius of 100 meters, all illusion spells are automatically dispelled. No deception or trickery can sway or deceive the Dark Queen while she is within this range. Her intuition and understanding of reality remain unparalleled, leaving no room for deception to cloud her judgment.
The Undying Sovereign's powers surrounding the Obsidian Throne further cement the Dark Queen's dominion and authority. She becomes an unstoppable force within its influence, projecting her unyielding rule over the dominion.
These powers can be activated at her will, with the exception of Final Vengeance, which automatically activates upon her death. As the Dark Queen, she wields these extraordinary abilities, solidifying her position as the formidable ruler of Maroka.
