Neil

Revered Brother, Arch Priest Neilmore Stevensenn (a.k.a. Neil)

Neilmore Stevensenn is a human cleric devoted to the deity Aniraz, holding the esteemed rank of Arch Priest. Born in 2614 AGR in the town of Crystal Lake, he hails from humble beginnings. His parents, Bartholomew and Muade Stevensenn, worked as fishmongers but were forced to flee their town due to unpaid debts.   Eventually, the family settled in Swamburgh after wandering for a few years. Neil's father, known as "Big Bart," toiled in the fields to secure a place for them in the frontier town. Through a stroke of luck, Big Bart won a tavern in a gambling game, providing hope for a brighter future.   Tragedy struck when Neil's mother, Muade, was killed in a farm cart accident. The lack of healers in town prevented her from receiving immediate care, leading to her untimely demise. This tragic event deeply affected Neil, inspiring him to become a cleric capable of healing others. He chose to follow the teachings of Aniraz, a goddess associated with charms.   The death of Muade took a toll on Big Bart, pushing him into depression and heavy drinking. Over time, their relationship deteriorated, and friction between them escalated. Big Bart remarried, but his new wife harbored resentment towards Neil, leading to abusive behavior. Conflicts between her and Big Bart escalated, further exacerbating Neil's already strained relationship with his father.   Neil sought refuge at an orphanage in Swamburgh run by his order. There, he connected with the head priest and expressed his desire to become an acolyte. He spent most of his time at the orphanage, distancing himself from his troubled home life.   Meanwhile, Neil's path crossed with that of Penggola, a mischievous individual with a thirst for adventure and a passion for helping the needy. Although Neil chose to abide by the laws and help others within legal boundaries, Penggola pursued a life as a street-smart thief and rogue. Despite their contrasting approaches, they shared a common goal.   During a trip to the dwarven settlement of Cragg Rock, Neil encountered a young boy named Sord, the son of the local blacksmith. Sord displayed extraordinary strength, unnatural speed, and other peculiar abilities. Neil, Penggola, and Sord's fates became intertwined as they developed a close friendship. Little did they know that this fateful encounter would shape their destinies.   As the years passed, Neil demonstrated his dedication and piety, rising through the ranks of his order. He became a kind and gentle soul, always seeking the best in people. In adulthood, he embodied fairness and righteousness. Despite his gentle demeanor, Neil could unleash the righteous wrath of his goddess upon evildoers, sternly punishing those who opposed good.   Physically, Neil is tall and lean, often described as lanky. He walks with a peculiar gait due to his long legs. His appearance is enhanced by his long, curly hair, which he tames with a headband. Pale in complexion, he possesses captivating ice-blue eyes that contribute to his natural charisma.   Neil serves as the healer and occasional leader of the Greymalkins, the party he joined alongside Penggola, Sord, and their friend Tiana, a skilled archer. During battles and campaigns, Neil wields a staff adorned with a circular blade, imbued with powerful holy magic capable of casting multiple spells. This staff serves as his holy symbol and symbol of authority within his order. He also carries an enchanted Flanged Mace and an impressive Kite shield as backup weapons.   Adorned in full plate armor covered by a gilded white tabard, Neil presents a striking figure. His armor includes a helm, gauntlets, and a belt to carry his pouches and mace. This ensemble is known as his holy vestments or raiment. While not the highest-ranking member of his order, Neil possesses considerable power as a cleric, rumored to have received direct revelations and visions from his deity.   In a seemingly predestined turn of events, Neil and the Greymalkins assist the avatar of Aniraz in her ascension, battling the forces of the dark god Braxus, resulting in Braxus' apparent demise. As a result, Neil's goddess absorbs some of Braxus' followers and gains new influence.   Thanks to their prior explorations of the fabled sky continents Omnimia and Maxillia, the Greymalkins acquire the power necessary to confront Braxus. Neil's current abilities allow him to wield top-tier cleric spells capable of healing, harming, and even resurrecting the dead. His particular specialty lies in combating the undead, striking fear into powerful vampires and Liches. Furthermore, Neil fortifies his comrades in battle (excluding Sord), making him an invaluable asset to the group.   Neil unwaveringly obeys his deity, remaining loyal to her cause. Simultaneously, he fiercely protects and stands by his friends. Though initially bewildered, Neil was instructed to keep a watchful eye on Sord and report his activities directly to his goddess after their encounter with Aniraz's avatar. It was believed that once gods ascended to the outer worlds, they would lose interest in worldly matters.   Currently residing at his order's monastery near Cragg Rock, Neil occasionally helps out at the Swamburgh orphanage, continuing his early commitment to the community. With no specific duties assigned by his order, Neil carries out the mandate bestowed upon him by Aniraz.
