Ilia's Epilogue

Your day starts with your morning exercises and prayer to Iomedae, the serenity of her grace and the righteousness of her vision. The guiding light to your life since you were a child, your whole family guided by her. You reflect on your adventures and all she brought you. The joy and the sorrow.
When you turn to walk the halls of Hearts Edge Keep you reflect on your future. With purpose you seek to bring her guidance to young children who have felt the worst pain. You miss the road some days, the uncomfortable bed roll, the bad weather, Daela snoring and Drolgor muttering over his spell book in the morning, as you always woke up first, fighting monsters and slaying evil.
That is behind you now, Ducard and the other children are now your horizon. Ducard over the last several months has done well. It's been 3 weeks since his last nightmare episode. When you first arrived you understood that while he was doing what he could to be strong, his young mind was in pain. Two or three times a week he would experience night terrors. In your wisdom and understanding you were keen on when to pressure him, train his body so hard that his mind couldn't possibly disturb his sleep, and when to support him, holding him for hours as he wept and talked of his mother. And the bond grew as he sought you out for comfort. Then it was once a week and eventually the nightmares grew further apart.
Drolgor's visit is welcome and exciting as it's one more step to establishing your new monastery. He brings with him his student Robin Fereaux, genius intellect with a playful demeanor. He helps Drolgor through the process of carving and enchanting the circle. Getting to know him you see that he has a thirst for the arcane similar to Drolgor but with a boyish wonderment in all aspects of life. When he meets Ducard they have a very quickly established brotherly bond, religion is not lost on him as it is Drolgor, even romance as he tells you of a girl, a red skinned tiefling, top of their class, Kallista.
With a life of routine now ahead of you, you got one big surprise after just two weeks. Susi came calling. She traveled the road and found her way to Heart’s Edge. She explained that because of the inspiration that you and Daela had given her she came to learn from you about Iomedae and what it means to do what you do. With open arms you welcome her and begin her study and training. She proved incredibly keen on learning the scriptures and understanding the philosophy. Of course you have seen her fighting ability, so teaching her the finest points of the pugilist maneuvers of hand to hand combat and specific weapon training was pretty easy. Through the same steps you took at your home temple, she was capable and determined, but it became obvious after three months that it was not in her to reach higher echelons of those abilities. Her nature was too much to overcome the harsh strict discipline and focus required. Still she didn’t lose any heart. She chose to part ways once again with promise to always keep your memory close and wishes that one day you will see each other again, for now she will go and seek her own cause, perhaps find others like herself, omega wolves. She tells you news of Drolgor and Rukni and their happy reunion, and that he too is taking to a more domestic life as a full time teacher and magic shop owner. There is a hint of pain in her eyes when she tells you this, you can see that her love for Drolgor is still a slight sting and that perhaps Drolgor leaving behind the adventuring life is in a small part leaving her behind too. She leaves you with a hug and these words “Wherever I am to end up you, Daela and Drolgor will always be my first real pack”. She heads to the horizon with a continued drive for adventure and purpose.
