World Settings in Norrath
This article will give a look into the kinds of settings and the sources that Norrath is built on.
As an amalgamation of a decade and a half of experience the inspiration of this world comes from many published adventure and settings. The continents of Golarion and Garund are built from the Pathfinder Campaign setting. Wildemount, Taldorei, and the Shattered Teeth come straight from the the Exandria the campaign setting from Critical Role Faerun is the from the world of Toril and The Forgotten Realms setting. It's fame brought from the many books and history of the creators of the Dungeons and Dragons game. Arcadia is the most recent addition to my world and this land is taken from the setting of Drakkenheim, a published setting by the Dungeon Dudes and their actual play show. When it comes to all these settings you can mostly assume the history of the lands has taken place and are considered canon. This will not be true if/when the events of the campaigns contradict the published lore. In these cases the campaign events always supersede the published events. If there are any questions about a settings events you can always ask for clarification of more details from the DM! Lastly, there might be events in the settings that are specifically made not canon even if no campaign events took place there but these events will be made clear by an article specifying the changes.
