A Brief Overview Of The Realms
This is a short and hopefully simple overview of a lot of the Realms Norria has. One day these will each have their own folders like Thovia but until then here is some info to help with character building and what not!
Asilyn- Home to Halflings and Gnomes, showcases beautiful sprawling green hills and large lush fields.
Centaur lands- Spent many years at war with Humans, started by humans over territory and power. Though war is over and peace has been made. The centaurs have never forgotten. They are distrustful towards humans, but welcome all other races pretty much openly. Anyone from the Kingdom of Gregory though is killed on the spot, as their history with them has never been amended and probably won’t ever be.
Elillien- The Nomadic people of Elillien, used to live A different life before the wars with the centaurs. Having grand cities and a royal hierarchy. During their truce and peace with the centaurs throughout the years they have taken to some parts of Centaur culture such as, the Nomadic way of living and living off and respecting the land they live on. Elillien is filled with ruins of what was once before, yet somehow being filled with new life and rich culture they’ve formed for themselves. Elillien was the first Realm to form a truce with the centaurs and really the only Humans centaurs trust.
Faemoria- The feywilds basically, magical, and enchanting but chaotic and somewhat dangerous. Has some intense wonderland vibes as well. Strange but beautiful fauna and flora, the night sky is a vibrant indigo and during the day it's a mixture of pinks and purple mimicking twilight. Created by a bolt of power and magic from one of the many disputes of the gods.
Gregory- A realm banned from the rest of the world. Gregory started the centaur wars and after all these years are determined to end it. All the heirs are named after the Original ruler Gregory. We are now nearing the end of our 6th generation of Gregory. Gregory is walled off and highly unwelcome in most places, mostly because people from here truly believe they are the chosen rulers of the lands as long ago they ruled over most everything from Gregory, to Thundria all the way down to Mornia. They love causing conflict and trying to build alliances off the conflicts. This whole realm is basically one big cult at this point that believes they are the best of the best.
Irrin- Home of the High elves, The Limorsi and the Dirthmors. A massive Elven forest separated down the middle by a river used to mark the territory of the other.
Kairina- Walled off from the rest of the world since the end of the Great dragon war. Kairina is home to tribes of Sorcerers who all have draconic bloodlines. Not much else is known about this Realm, as the walls have never been taken down. Before they were already averse of outsiders, so not many traveled there. Kairina is a realm covered in secrets and mystery.
Larsh- Hot, humid swamps home of the lizard folk. Not very friendly towards outsiders, but travelers are somewhat welcome.
Mornia- Nicknamed the Realm of the poor, Mornia is a Poor realm, during wars before the rise of evil dragons. Mornia was a large kingdom that ruled over most of where Kariina and Asilyn are. During fights for territory and power. Mornia lost most of its land to its two neighboring realms. Now small, and though there's peace between the realms. Mornia has still struggled to get back on its feet. Ruled by a girl child named Cecelia her mother died during childbirth and her father died of an illness leaving her the only heir to the throne. She is just 10yrs old. They in recent years have been producing quality horses. Enough so Royalty from other realms have been seeking Mornia’s stables. Which has been helpful!
Naislath- Hotter, more humid swamps than Larsh, home of the yuan-ti. Absolutely not friendly or safe for outsiders at all.
Servasin- Land of the Dragonborn, Almost destroyed during the Great dragon war, as many turned on the Dragonborn believing they too were evil like the chromatic dragons. Over the years the dragonborn were able to successfully rebuild their home and prosper. A realm that has only really opened up to outsiders recently, Dragonborn do adventure outside their home often. But are slightly distrustful of others people other than Dragonborn stick out like a sore thumb, here.
Thundria- Permanently frozen forest and winter being the only season except for a quick 3 month spring. Thundria is a harsh place to live in, that's why many don’t. Filled with untouched wildlife and wilderness. Various Barbarian tribes reside here and take on the rough landscape Thundria has to offer.
Onga- A land that is home to 3 realms ruled and inhabited by humans.
Quilwryn, Nami and Tien.
The Quilwryn people have a deep appreciation for life , more specifically nature and animals. Ancient Quilwryn’s began speaking to the gods before they felt comfortable speaking to mortals in their true forms. They came to the Quilwryn’s in the forms of animals and animal spirits.
Each god has their own animal they are associated with. The gods hold up this tradition and still take animal form when they are visiting and/or dealing with someone in this realm.
Amis- Snake
Astra- Swan
Esharna- Vulture
Laolna- Frog
Leishna- Tiger
Lunix- lion
Ralsheane- Bat
Ravnor- Whale or turtle
Salzax- Fox
The Twins
Akiria- Crow
Tymoria- Rabbit or Hare
The Tien People worship Dragons as gods. Specifically they worship Darkna, the Goddess of metallic dragons. And Aldrea, an ancient Amethyst dragon known as the queen of Norria. Before the Great dragon war. The Tien people were really close with the mysterious Dragoni elves. They have a deep respect for dragons and dragon kind. They are able to take some dragon species as mounts and prefer to travel this way. Especially the royal family.
The Nami People Worship Alshara herself believing she takes 3 forms. The Mother of life, The mother of Time and the Mother of Dreams. Their religion is harder for outsiders to understand , the Nami people have many ceremonies and traditions that are important to them. They are a joyful people who are very welcoming and peaceful.
