Order Of The Amethyst

Structure

The Order Of The Amethyst has gotten stronger throughout the years. As threats from Abstenia continue to grow , the word spreads and those who choose to fight do. The order has a variety of members from well practiced magic users to clans of barbarians from the Elillien wilds.     Aldrea in her human form hires groups of adventures for help with odd and peculiar jobs. The Order isn’t picky with who they accept or hire, as any help is considered valuable. This has led to some controversial alliances in the past with Demons, Hags, Thieves and the Undead.
We are stronger together than we are apart, because not just our world is in danger but the reality of life ,time and space as we know it. Though this may be hard to understand, what I can’t stress enough is that no one is safe, all are affected, all are in danger. The same soul who withers away in the Weeping for their wrong doings in life. Will suffer just the same as the soul who spends an eternity in happiness in the lands of Normordia. Once the worlds collide life will change into a nightmarish void of suffering and fear!     -Part of a speech given by Aldrea to a new group of new recruits.

Public Agenda

The order Of The Amethyst vows to protect Norria from threats from the unusual and hellish worlds of Abstenia. We hope to achieve this by studying anything we can about this strange place and it's influence on Norria. Any threats detected will be eliminated with great knowledge and care. There is no greater war than the one against Abstenia, though we fight in the shadows the Order Of The Amethyst is always there and always keeping an eye out for the signs of this specific type of evil.    -A piece of the order's Mission Statement

History

The Order of The Amethyst was created by the Ancient Amethyst dragon Aldrea, Queen Of Norria   The origins of Aldrea are scarce, she was born about 300 yrs before the great dragon war. Hatched without parents, Amethyst dragon eggs have been recorded to incubate anywhere from 5 to 30 yrs. So anything could have happened, Aldrea lived a fairly peaceful life hidden away from outsiders before the great war. It was during those troubling times did she come out from the shadows and prove to be a powerful ally. When the gods finally got involved in the war, Aldrea won over the heart of Leishna the goddess of magic. The two would often ride into combat together, and famously did so at the final battle in the magic wastelands of Kathiir: Tomb For The Deep

She has a lair in the Floating celestial city of Zarbeth gifted to her by Leishna after the war. Aldrea prefers to take the form of a human woman with glowing purple eyes, as she doesn’t like to be caught in dragon form. She goes through phases where she spends many years living amongst the people of Norria, studying them and learning from them.   It was during one of these phases where she met and fell in love with a human knight of the Fortunate protectors, Bram Stunnerfield. A love already doomed with heart break had an alarming and disturbing ending. One day Bram was called to be a part of a band of knights sent to investigate a large meteorite that had landed in an open field near the small farming town Shellshire. The town had suddenly stopped sending out exports. Which caused enough alarm for investigation. Bram was the only survivor, not even the townspeople survived, no bodies were found, everyone was just gone. whatever happened must have been absolutely horrible as Bram was never quite the same. Aldrea in the months that followed stayed by Bram’s side as he slipped into madness.
By Peter Schmidt   fHe grew an obsession with circles , from noticing them everywhere, to walking in circles, collecting circles, fearing/ running away from them , he’d even talk in circles for hours at a time repeating the same sentences over and over.     fHe’d wake up screaming about the “whispers” being too close to him and would tell Aldrea he could sometimes still hear the screams of his companions begging for him to help them. But he didn’t know where they had gone or how. Aldrea didn’t really understand, but stayed by his side doing anything she could to help the love of her life get through this internal battle.   fAfter 5 Months , Aldrea came home to find that Bram had finally lost that battle. He had gauged his own eyes out and then drowned himself in the tub. He left one small note , in an envelope with Aldrea’s name written on it. It Read: I know Now..   Aldrea, heart-broken, distraught and traumatized, ran to leishna spilling her woes. It was then she learned of Abstenia: The Void within a Void. Leishna told Aldrea the story of her brother Ravnor, the god of Knowledge and Wisdom. How he accidentally discovered Abstenia while researching the universe. She said Ravnor acted similarly to Bram but one day just seemed to snap out of it. But made Leishna promise she’d never speak about any of it to anyone. And most importantly she’d never try to venture to find Abstenia for herself under any circumstances.
“That was a long time ago Drea, before even dragons existed . He’s never talked about it again, acted as if nothing ever happened. How peculiar that something so similar would happen again all these years later.”     -Leishna to Aldrea
Aldrea decided then she’d stop at nothing to protect Norria from the incomprehensible horrors of Abstenia, to honor Bram and to prevent anyone from having to go through what he did. she started The order as a final love letter to Bram and a promise to never forget and always protect.
