Tomb of Shekara
Purpose / Function
This is the resting place of the demigod Shekara. It is a death trap designed to stop would be thieves from stealing the treasure Shekara protected in life.
Alterations
Over the centuries the undead guardians have built a warren of tunnels and caverns to confuse would be thieves and traps to kill them.
Architecture
Rough hewn stone walls, floor, and ceilings. Occasionally one might see claw marks as well as the marks of pick and shovel. The doors are sturdy wood or stone. The chambers are halfway between a room and a cavern.
History
The tomb was originally created as a small temple to an ancient power, by a group of Dwarven priests in the distant past while they were in the area. It was abandoned once they moved on and nearly forgotten. Shekara found the place by accident and decided it would be the perfect hiding place for her treasure, since at the time the races of men had not yet come to the west of Faerun. She and her followers stood guard here for many years slowly digging out a death trap. Since Shekara’s death her followers, now undead, have continued the work protecting Shekara’s tomb from grave robbers.
