KILL IT WITH FIRE

General Summary

• Party is present for the commander of Owslate's surrender, Daxis sits in on the negotiations
• Party delivers a copy of the formal surrender to Theodoric in Rivercairn
• Theodoric informs the party that Ruvain and Midna believe they have tracked Hojo to Basaltwood but think it is a trap
• Party rendezvous with Ruvain and Midna in the Forest of Whispers - en route they encounter the reanimated corpse of Droop which Hojo speaks through - body detonates when Daxis' Echo comes into contact with it
• Party finds the town littered with corpses, no survivors
• Hojo unleashes Experiment #666 on the party - Ossu and Ruvain split off to go after Hojo while the others fight the monster, Daxis eventually follows
• Ossu bypasses Hojo's barrier and nearly kills him, but Hojo is able to break his staff resulting in a massive explosion which destroys the reanimated cultists and incapacitates Ossu and Ruvain - Hojo leaves no body behind
• Party finds #666's weak point and after many attempts they are able to put the beast down for good just as Asteros forces begin to set fire to the town with siege weapons
• After fleeing the party is confronted by the Drow member of The Shepherds, who leaves as Gar Naz challenges Mons and is summarily defeated
• Party returns to Rivercairn

Track down Hojo and find out how he is connected to The Shepherds.
Info obtained:

• Hojo was The Shepherd's inside man in the Empire
• Hojo revealed when most of the Kingsglaive would be away from the capital as well as the location of the emperor's safe room
• Ardiykhal's goal is to "tear down this world and remake it as he sees fit", something that he claims he can achieve once he collects all seven Shards
• Hojo agreed to aid in this as he was promised that all who side with Ardiykhal would "live as gods in the new world"
