Midna Ashleaf

A young half-drow woman that the party met in Phandalin, coming to her aid against a group of Redbrands. Midna informs them that the Redbrands are involved in people trafficking in addition to their protection racket scams. Midna assists the party by guarding the woodcarver's family while they clear out the hideout, she then assists in getting information out of Glass-Staff and the captured bugbear.   The party feels a sense of familiarity from Midna upon meeting her, and she volunteers to hold down the fort in Phandalin while the party follows up on additional leads regarding The Black Spider, the one Glass-Staff answered to. After seeing the statue of Halone in the abandoned village of Thundertree the party has a brief vision of seeing Halone standing side by side with Midna.   After learning The Black Spider's identity, Midna confesses to the party that he is her father, reveals what he did to her mother and requests the party to allow her to accompany them in order to seek her revenge. Midna uses her magic to aid the party as they explore Wave Echo Cave and fight the creatures residing there, including the confrontation with The Black Spider himself. Along with the party Midna uses the Spell Forge to enchant her dagger with a powerful magical ability.   After accompanying the party all the way to Rivercairn, Midna chose to stay behind so that she could play a more active role in caring for her mother who she had left in the care of the Temple of Eldath. She indicates she'll be seeking new employment to put her skills to use, as to not fall behind the party in the event they have need of her again.
