Theodoric Rosenvelt

A middle-aged human man that is the current Captain of the Guard for Rivercairn - making him the commander of both the city's active guard as well as the Seiros military. The party first met him while turning in a wanted bandit leader they had captured. The next morning the automata army attacks Rivercairn, Theodoric briefly fights alongside the party against the advancing machines before they are separated when the party engages Gar Naz. He is also present with the party when the mysterious man known as "Ardiykhal" attacks the castle that night - killing the king and stealing the "Shard" that powered the city before leaving with both Gar Naz and another accomplice he referred to as "Arsene".   After an observation period it was Theodoric who suggested recruiting the party to seek more info on the attackers, as members of the city guard or military would not be able to be spared given the circumstances. Theodoric now acts as the party's "handler" as a deputized squad of the Seiros military.   While the party were dealing with events in Phandalin and unraveling Nezznar's web, Theo coordinated efforts to reveal the spy in Rivercairn and sending troops to escort Glass-staff to Rivercairn for questioning.   When the party returned to explain recent events in full (Phandalin, Midna, The Black Spider, Spell Forge and Black Wolf) Theo went over the documents recovered from Nezznar's "office" in Wave Echo Cave. They find information indicating the cult that Nezznar was associated with was planning something in Asteros in order to locate the Shard held by that nation. He suggests the party heads south to see in what way they could assist - as if there are multiple groups seeking the Shards this may be a way to find information on the group that has obtained three of the Shards to date. He sends a messenger ahead of the party to inform the Archbishop.   Upon being shown the glyph that appeared when Nezznar underwent his grotesque transformation, he informs the party that it is a symbol that has been used by various cults throughout the ages. These cults worship an entity that has been given various titles, but its true name is unknown. Some of these titles include: "Harbinger of The End", "God of a Thousand Faces", "Stalker Among the Stars", and "The Crawling Chaos".
