Black Helm Tower was the home of Black Vizor, one of the High Heralds of the organization known as the Heralds of Faerûn.

Location

Black Helm Tower was located about a day's ride (approximately 30 mi or 48 km) to the north and east of Daggerford in west Faerûn, just north of the Delimbiyr river.

Structure

This fortified compound sat on a small hill, affording it a minor strategic advantage. This fortified compound squats atop a low hill located about a day’s ride north and east of Daggerford (17). It is home to Ghelimar Firefrostarr (NG male Tethyrian human bard 1/fghter 10), current holder of the Black Vizor office in the High Heralds. Ghelimar is rarely in attendance because his position requires much traveling and magically assisted communication. The Black Vizor is deeply involved in the current politics of west¬ern Faerun, keeping track of intrigues, changing attitudes, treaties, and shifting balances of power. He also keeps records of all peace treaties and formal declarations of war, and reports on their fulfillment to the Heralds, the Lords’ Alliance, and the Merchants’ League. Ghelimar does grant audiences when he is in residence, but he is careful not to undercut the office of Falconfree (CoS:W) in Waterdeep, which is currently held by Scirkhel Wands.
