Not Some Wild Shade

Bluebell Quarter, Cabreis City   It's not a slum, but it's no high-class neighborhood either. Rich kids come here for party drugs, parents come here when their children have impossible illnesses, and the people who live here are all too aware that magic costs.   Splish Bright is a child of the Bluebell Quarter--blue skin, four arms, dragonfly wings, obsidian eyes and all. Not quite fae, but certainly not human, a Tam Lin's child carried to term and born, who speaks to fish and walks on water during the full moon. Xe's lived in the quarter all xir life, and has learned the bitter lessons it has to teach about love and prophecy all too well.   Clare is new to the quarter, having moved in with their parents after the third time they passed out from their migraines. MRIs showed the horn buds, eventually, and given how unknown their history is, keeping close to Ixtliton Hospital is probably a good idea.   Than Bian Ngo brews teadragons and throws books at the irresponsible, and keeps a trio of strange fish in her back yard.   They're not unusual in the quarter--none of them. Or they wouldn't be.   Listen. The fish are speaking.
