Raptors with other Notta animal life

Raptors, Mounts of the Naga

by AuthorChase on HeroForge
Raptors were the most sacred animal of the Naga. They wrapped around their mount's bodies to hold on as they cast spells for battle and convenience. The sorcerers of the War Unit used raptors that were adorned in armor, with crystals embedded in their crowns. Sorcerers wore the same crowns as their mounts to communicate strategy and actions with their raptors, making for successful war mounts. However, their War Cleric allies were still travelling on foot, or riding smaller animals such as the Nightstalkers. The Runemaster collaborated with the Skymaster to gift the War Clerics with their own war raptors.

War-mount of War Clerics

The War Clerics received raptors with armor and crowns to accommodate them as a gift. Sorcerers taught them how to use the crown and had armor smiths craft them to their different sized heads. The crystals within these crowns were moonstones instead of obsidian to complement the Dark Elves. This was also so the raptors would respond to the Dark Elves' hereditary stone. These stones were to conduits for working with the war raptors for the War Unit. How successful these collaborations were up to the ones riding them.

Other Animal Mounts

by AuthorChase on HeroForge
There were other animal mounts that revolutionized travel through Notta. They were the Nightmanes and Mooncats. They became obsolete as mounts after Sorcerers shared their Raptors. However, they remained treasured as animal and hunting companions. The Dark Elves used them for support, whether with travelling or combat. The cat like species became more used with the Naga technology as well, helping War Clerics take down their foes.

The Nightmanes originated from the Tigrim colonies. They were companions for the nomads as they traveled through Notta. The Dark Dwarves domesticated the Nightmanes while they enslaved the Tigrim. There were Nightmanes that rebelled against the Dwarves for torturing their beloved masters. However, the Dark Dwarves put down those Nightmanes that rebelled as examples to the other horse species. Both races cherished Nightmanes in the present day after the World War.
