Ecology and Habitats

Dietary Needs and Habits
Gold Giants are omnivores.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Gold Giants tend to be highly structured socially and there are long and painstaking rules on social status such that one could take a room of people and order them to the one based upon class, wealth, family, birthright, etc. Giants of higher class families are often trained for leadership in some sense, but this also creates problems where a high-class giant may be a very poor leader and get into all kinds of trouble.
Facial characteristics
Gold Giants tend to have broad, round faces. Males can grow facial hair.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Gold Giants moved eastward after the Sundering, and settled lands between the Sundered Mountains and the Isles of the far East, preferring temperate climates.
Average Intelligence
Gold Giants were said to be incredibly intelligent, sometimes superhumanly so.
Civilization and Culture
Beauty Ideals
Men are seen as beautiful if they are very muscular. Women are seen as beautiful if they are...well fed. In the opposite case, they are seen as ugly.
Gender Ideals
Gold Giants became a very patriarchal society to great shame as Glare was a very wise and beloved woman. Women rarely have many rights at all and are sometimes worse than male slaves.
Courtship Ideals
Courtship (at least for those who care about class) rarely has anything to do with love. It is a dance of trying to raise one's class by marrying into a more powerful family and the women rarely have any say in the matter.
Relationship Ideals
Men and women have distinct purposes in the household, usually favoring the males.
History
Guldan's descendants, humbled greatest of all, traveled eastward, into the rising sun. They founded small nations on their way until, at last, finding the Pillar of the East. Together with the Dorinites and the Ailoi Belcanites they founded the Temple of the East Wind.
Guldan's sons were Danlau, Gandai, Lingdo, and Singlau.
Danlau, the eldest, settled in Sukya Wailong, the Valley of the Sun. There he discovered a spirit of old who called himself Waichong-gu Nasai, or Prince of the Golden Sun. Danlau built a cult after Waichong-gu Nasai. To this day Danlau's descendants are not free of that accursed idolatry.
Gandai planned out his route to the east and built a string of settlements along the way. He made maps of the lands between the settlements and plotted the quickest and safest paths between them. In this way there was a constant flow of food and supplies moving east behind him so that when he reached the Pillar of the East Wind and found the Dolwing starving there, Gandai had food and supplies ready to survive and build the temple.
Singlau followed his older brother, Gandai and helped him plan out the routes to each next settlement. Singlau was a great hunter and wayfarer. When the Temple was completed, Gandai would travel between his settlements while Singlau would stay on the wild isles and tame them, building settlements of his own on Suchii Waiban.
Lingdo settled the peninsula east of Chokya Gung. He was favored by his mother and taught the secret of Truegold. He built his kingdom there and traded weapons and armor of Truegold and especially with his brother Danlau.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Gold giants see themselves as the superior race, especially if compared to men or dwarves. They are firstborn of firstborn and superior in every way and often treat other races as such.
