Qreotl
Qreotl is the woman that the Storm Twins, Denos and Tornik, fell in love with and the reason they became the gods of redemption and vengeance.
Legend of the Rain Maiden
When months of drought threatened Embercross with starvation, a young instrument maker went into the hills with her lute and sang a song to the Storm Twins, praying that they would shower the land with rain. They were drawn in by her sweet song and a rain fell upon Embercross for the first time that year. Each time she went into the hills and sang, the twins would bless Embercross with rain. Many years of plenty passed for Embercross until the town was raided by the orcs of Mozlotl. The orcs demanded the town hand over the Rain Maiden and if they didn't their crops would be destroyed. The town gave up Qreotl, and the Famine Maker descended from the skies, snatching the woman up and disappearing with her. Despite their deal, the orcs set fire to the fields of Embercross, leaving the town facing starvation once more. The townspeople begged the storm twins to save the fields, which led to the legendary rift between the brothers. A violent storm formed above the town, putting out the flames and saving the crops. But the brothers were at odds, Denos wanted the people of the town to seek redemption for what they had done to Qreotl, while Tornik felt they deserved eternal punishment. The rain above Embercross never faded, rendering the land swampy and useless for crops. As for Qreotl, she was whisked away and kept as entertainment for the gods of hell, hidden from the gaze of the Storm Twins. Decades passed and Qreotl slowly went mad, and when she would no longer sing, Mumos bound her spirit to her beautiful ebony and pearl lute, which was then lost to history.
