The Halls of Vashana

The Halls of Vashana is an education institute founded by Vashana over a thousand years ago, before her ascension, to teach arcane magic. The buildings are carved into the rim of the Sky Gate. The Hall maintains the magic that limits the sunlight shining through and hides the Sky Gate from outside view. A transparent, shimmering walkway connects the buildings and sends colorful rays of light onto the Prismatic Step. The Hall contains departments for each school of magic as well as artificery, planar research, and an observatory. Each department has its own head professor with two to four assistant professors.

Notable Figures

Headmistress Haelna Myval: an elderly Drow woman of about 875 years who was a student of the original Arcane Masters, headmistress in name only as it has grown too difficult to manage in her old age.
High Arcanist Valynn Hun'tyl: the true overseer of the Hall, set to take over as Headmaster when Haelna retires
Arcanist Elvanya Cormrael: the head professor of planar research, about 450 years old.
Arcanist Tebraen Mlezziir: assistant professor of planar research
Head Archivist Shimyra Tuu'in: head librarian
Starseer Lydi’aleera Y'Landrothiel: pallid elf, head of the observatory
Madame Tinga: an elderly gnome woman, head of the infirmary.

Buildings

Administration: Contains the office of the Headmistress.
Infirmary: Located between the evocation and administrative buildings.
Library: A building on the opposite side of the Sky Gate from the administrative building. Run by Archivist Shimyra Tuin and 4 assistants (Myrym, Miz'ri, Lestar, Hadril). Much larger than it appears from the outside. It has a front desk and extends back and down in steps. To the left of the desk is a room of natural specimens and to the right is a room of artifacts, both of which require permission to enter. Tall shelves line the walls and tables run down the center. Beyond the open steps, access is restricted to students and faculty of appropriate skill level.
