Concrete City

Due to limited space, the architects of Concrete City long ago learned the only way to account for the growing population was to build up. Now black buildings rise up to scrape the sky like thin finger draped with cobweb walk ways between their various platforms. Each building is a self-contained city with it's own power grid with a generator located at the base. The idea was originally so that each building would independent and primarily interact with other inhabitants of the same building but the walkways along with the upper floors being more desired meant that classes started to form with more wealthy citizens and businesses at the top floors. Those who can't afford housing often live on the lower walkways between buildings. Many street people be they homeless or simple rebels have also found ways to move between the different levels of the walkways without ever needing to inter the buildings using support systems.

Government

Concrete City is is ruled over by a board of elected officials, each one representing one of the 51 residential scrapers of the city, usually pulled from near the top. There are also sub-councils to oversee different fields such as infrastructure, science, religion, transportation, and agriculture. All of these are run by chosen members of the 51 person congress.

Defences

Concrete City was not built with safety in mind due to it's citizens being far removed from war. in case of emergency it does have a standard force field with generators at the top of every government building and the perimeter of the city. The port is also equipped with several torpedoes arranged near the sewers and a large net two miles away from the city waters primarily used to keep sharks away but can also be used against submarines.

Infrastructure

Most of the energy is produced in underground micro nuclear plants, while water is provided by sewer pipes running from treatment facilities to the sides of buildings.

Guilds and Factions

Nu-corp. is the creator of the S33R and one a huge innovator in modern science. Started by staunch Atheist, Ashely Wiess, Nu-corp was originally founded to investigate the multiverse theory, however after the discovery of the Asomatous Plane became sensational after an advertisment claimed it as "heaven" she soon lost control of her organization. She originally fired the advertiser but it was too late, hundreds of new Shareholders bought in with an agenda. Now Wiess has to choose between her research and her beliefs even when the evidence for souls is staring her right in the face. Many Asomauts are using her hesitation to go through with her discoveries to their advantage.
