Class: Demonologist

Demonologists are magic experts who have aligned themselves strongly with otherworldly demonic forces.
  • Their damaging magical attacks drain from the caster's own life force.
  • Demonologists are Mage - DPS & Casters.
  • They excel at dealing high damage in a short period of time.
  • They might not be the ones that deal the highest amount of damage, but they are very good at dealing their damage to groups of enemies and do best with spells that have a very large area of effect.
  • Demonologists also deal damage over time, such as burning enemies.

  • These are just some suggestions that we have put together to give you an idea of what weapons, weapon buffs, augments, auras and unique sorcery items/spells that would work best for this class. It is up to you if your choose to use them.
  • Ideal Character Race & Faction:

Yes, it is true, some Character Races and Factions seem to excel better with the class training then others. What this means is that certain character races and Factions will receive a race and/or faction bonus that goes towards gaining trait exp.

The ideal Race for the Demonologist Class are:

  • Khitan (+1 Priest, +1 Demonologist)
  • Stygian (+1 Necromancer Trait, +1 Demonologiest Trait)
  • The ideal Faction for the Demonologist Class are:

  • Elvanor: +1 Demonologist Trait
  •   However, you do not have to be one of these races or faction to be a Demonologist, you can be any you wish.

    Demonologist specialties include:

  • DD = Direct Damage,
  • AoE = Area of Effect Damage,
  • Self-Buffs,
  • Group Buffs,
  • Buff and Damage
  • Thralls/Pets,
  • Spellweaving.
  •

    Demonologist Class Traits:

The class traits system allows you to customise your build to match your fighting style.   For the Demonologist Class, the following traits are recommended:   Level 10 Demonologist
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Demonologist = 15% Sorcery Damage per level = You need to deal damage with sorcery to level it.

  •
      Level 10 Necromancer
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Necromancer = 20% Increased timer & 10% Health per level = You need to summon minions and have them active to level it. (You need a Darfari Witch Doctor II in the witchbowl cauldron to get necromancy craftable for summoning, it requires corrupted bonemeal to summon them and additional necrotic pets can be obtained by killing bosses for their recipe drops).

  •
      Level 5 Priest
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Priest = 6% Increased sorcery healing per level = You need to use healing spells to level it.

  •
      Level 5 Templar
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Templar = 1.5% Lifesteal and damage reflected on attackers per level = You need to use one-handed weapon +shield to level it.

  •
      Level 5 Shaman
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Shaman = 2% Decreased mana cost per level = You need to cleanse debuffs or have less than 25% mana to level it.

  •
You can only earn 35 trait points, in total. So it is recommended that you lock the following trait lines, so you don't start accidently leveling them up:
  • Conqueror, Ranger, Barbarian, Guardian, Herald.
  •   You can do this by going into your inventory screen, and clicking on the EEWA button/icon on the left of your hotbar. This will open up the EEWA menu screen.   Navigate to the traits section, and click the lock icon next to the traits you wish to lock. This will prevent you from leveling those traits and allow you to only level the ones your class will benefit from.   This is something only you are be able to do. If you chose not to lock any traits, you risk not earning enough exp to get the most out of the Demonologist Class.

    Demonologist Attribute Points:

If you choose to become a Demonologist, I will help you with reaching your attribute goals. As your class level increases, you will be rewarded with extra attribute points in the areas that will be of the most benefit to you and your class training.     However, to get the most out of your Demonologist training, I recommend that when you are allocating your naturally earnt attribute points, that you aim for a minimum of:
  • 50+ Accuracy, 50+ Grit, 30+ Agility, 30+ Vitality.
  •   By putting your points in these areas before the others, you will increase your stats faster, and higher then what you could as a default character with default attributes.

The Pros and Cons of this class

      Pros:
  • When well played, demonologists can also act as efficient off-tanks, being able to keep an enemy off the group for a long time.
  •   Cons:
  • Can be a bit of a "glass cannon" class, able to pump out heavy constant damage but they have very limited options for absorbing or healing damage to themselves, relying heavily on crowd control abilities to try and keep damage off of them particularly against bosses.
  •
