Class: Guardian

Guardians are the most heavily armored and well drilled soldiers.
  • Capable of withstanding punishment like no other, they also have an array of deadly attacks that deal devastating damage.
  • Guardians aren't limited to melee weapons alone, however, as they can also use thrown weapons.
  • Higher-level guardians also gain the ability to use the deadly crossbow, for those who dare to try and attack at range.
  • Guardians are a Soldier - Main Tank with DPS.
  •

  •   Please Note:
  • These are just some suggestions that we have put together to give you an idea of what weapons, weapon buffs, augments, auras and unique sorcery items/spells that would work best for this class. It is up to you if your choose to use them.
  • Ideal Character Race & Faction:

Yes, it is true, some Character Races and Factions seem to excel better with the class training then others. What this means is that certain character races and Factions will receive a race and/or faction bonus that goes towards gaining trait exp.

The ideal Race for the Guardian Class are:

  • Hyborian (+2 Strenght, +2 Vitality, +1 Guardian Trait)
  • Hyrkanian/Turanian (+8 Agility, +1 Guardian Trait)
  • The ideal Faction for the Guardian Class are:

  • Cold Embrace: +1 Templar Trait
  •   However, you do not have to be one of these races or faction to be a Guardian, you can be any you wish.

    Guardian specialties include:

  • More suited to tanking, not for dealing damage.
  • Tempest focuses on using a Polearm, where Juggernaut generally uses a 1HB/E and a Shield.
  •

    Guardian Class Traits:

The class traits system allows you to customise your build to match your fighting style.   For the Guardian Class, the following traits are recommended:   Level 10 Guardian
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Guardian = 1% Bonus damage prevented & 2% base damage taken returned as health per level = You need to take damage while wearing heavy armour to level it.

  •
      Level 10 Templar
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Templar = 1.5% Lifesteal and damage reflected on attackers per level = You need to use one-handed weapon +shield to level it.

  •
      Level 10 Barbarian
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Barbarian = 5% Increased one-handed damage per level = You need to use one-handed weapons to level it.

  •
      Level 5 Ranger
Trait bonus and how to level it:
  • Ranger = 4% Increased ranged damage per level = You need to use a ranged weaponry to level it.

  •
You can only earn 35 trait points, in total. So it is recommended that you lock the following trait lines, so you don't start accidently leveling them up:
  • Conqueror, Ranger, Barbarian, Guardian, Herald.
  •   You can do this by going into your inventory screen, and clicking on the EEWA button/icon on the left of your hotbar. This will open up the EEWA menu screen.   Navigate to the traits section, and click the lock icon next to the traits you wish to lock. This will prevent you from leveling those traits and allow you to only level the ones your class will benefit from.   This is something only you are be able to do. If you chose not to lock any traits, you risk not earning enough exp to get the most out of the Guardian Class.

    Guardian Attribute Points:

As your class level increases, you will be rewarded with extra attribute points in the areas that will be of the most benefit to you and your class training.     However, to get the most out of your training, I recommend that when you are allocating your naturally earnt attribute points, that you aim for a minimum of:
  • 50+ Vitality, 50+ Agility, 30+ Strength, 30+ Grit.
  •   By putting your points in these areas before the others, you will increase your stats faster, and higher then what you could as a default character with default attributes.
