Trouble in Ararholm
2nd of Reaping, 834
Crazy day so far! I got shot!
It seems like things are getting out of hand with the adventurer's camp. Gokka and his boys seem to really be pushing everyone's buttons. Seems some "adventuring company" calling themselves the Greencloaks have decided to take it upon themselves to try and take down Gokka in their own roundabout way: Raiding Pamke's house (unforgivable) and our town warehouse. From the look of it, it seems like these Greencloaks are trying their best to frame Gokka and his crew, but it's tough to say without having a proper run-in with them. Seems they took one of the journals Pamke's father left behind. She seems pretty bent out of shape about it, and rightfully so. I want to see it returned. She deserves better than this nonsense. Gokka's a troublemaker for sure, but I feel like this whole thing is just gonna end up poking the vesp-nest and creating more work and drama for the town to deal with.
We checked in with Sheriff Edgar about the whole thing. He doesn't want to pin any of this on Gokka, but he has been trying to pin down where the guy's been hiding out, since he hasn't been seen in town in a good long while. To that end, we began trying to track him down, in hopes of getting to the bottom of these thefts, and possibly catching these Greencloak folks red-handed before their trail goes cold. After some very primo tracking from Mr Fox, we happened upon some ruins that we suspected Gokka and his folks might be using as a hideout. Our suspicions were confirmed when we were shot at!
Zeno face-planted me into the dirt to prevent me from getting shot. He always does this. Why does he always do this? I made a sniper-blind for him like he trained me then got to work. I had a nifty cypher on me that I'd been wanting to try out for a good long while, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. As a crew of bandits closed in, I popped up and pulled the ol' switcheroo with one of them! Instant hostage situation! It went.... almost according to plan. The bandits seemed to back down, though their trigger-happy friend didn't seem to get the message; hence me getting shot! Thankfully Zeno was on the scene and took care of him real quick.
It seemed like none of the bandits we confronted had any desire to go back to Gokka having failed to defend the hideout, so we're gonna take them back to Ararholm and let Edgar know where the hideout is. We can come up with a plan of attack from there. Hopefully we'll get back in time for evening to fall. Lowenn's asked if I'll be performing tonight and I'd hate to disappoint!
In other news , it looks like the troubles here in town are starting to reach a breaking point. Our water troubles have been a real nuisance, but with reaping coming up we're going to have to solve it soon. Pamke's asked us to take a look, and honestly, it'll give us a chance to take another look inside the ruins, which I'm all for! I think that's gonna be next on our list once we get these thefts sorted out!
There's also a caravan that got jumped on the road between Ararholm and the City of the Dead. We'll need to try and figure out how to help those folks out.
These Folks I Run With
I came to Ararholm on my own as part of my pilgrimage. Nice place, way out there though! When I do decide to head back home, it's going to be a tricky process!
PARTY: As soon as I hit Ararholm I starting searching for info on this region. Anything I could learn to spin a good tale was as good as shins. I think Fox got wind of this and figured I'd be a good informant. From there he started bringing me along with him on tasks, I ended up convincing KL3P and Belel to tag along too, we found Zenobius stuck in the sand (weird day), and the rest is history!
FOX: Somewhat snooty guy who helped settle the town. I help get him info here and there. He's not big on my dancing, but not everyone has to be. While he seems to be on okay terms with me, I get the feeling that our relationship is never going to evolve much beyond the strictly professional. When we get into the thick of things he occasionally misses throwing a punch and hits me. It's happened enough times that I'm wondering if it's coincidence or not.
ZENOBIUS: My 8 foot tall super cool robot friend! Zeno has saved my bacon on more than one occasion. He seems to always have my back, which I'm eternally grateful for. I would rather not end up on the wrong side of the 8 foot tall murder-cyborg. One of these days I'll figure out how to pay him back for all of the things he does for me!
KL3P: Adventuring buddy and all around cool dude. He's a nano like me, but more machiney, which I kinda dig. We hit it off after a particularily dazzling performance of "The Ballad of the Glitterstorm" touched on KL3P's particular obsession for glitter (though when asked about it later KL3P had no recollection of such interest). I find KL3P extremely interesting and want to find out more about the guy.
BELEL: Fellow nano and generally rad bender of light. We get along okay but I get the impression she thinks my abilities are on a level lower than hers. I don't let it get me down though, we're cool.
